The future of telecommunication?
Apparently the UN (yes, that UN) approved a new standard for telecommunication. The new standard, IMT-Advanced, promises to blow 3G, 4G – heck all of the G’s – out of the water. It is supposed to use the RF spectrum more efficiently and use less bandwidth. Super fast messaging, [...]

UTSA currently has a “term” site license for Autodesk. Software Coordinator Matthew Marr has found that by switching to the “perpetual” license model, we will be able to see cost savings beginning with the fourth year. With multi-year renewals, there is a potential for even more savings. Way to go, Matthew.
The Provost is charged with ensuring the quality of academic programs offered; supervising the institutionsā strategic and master planning processes; supporting the recruitment of high-quality faculty; and, facilitating the growth and enhancement of the university.

OIT is going to upgrade the Avaya PBX (telephone system). By expediting the purchase to occur before incentives expired, the department was able to save $130,000.
